LifeRay Open Source Is Open To The Public

We have some exciting news on the open source enterprise front, Liferay (one of the big names in the game) have announced through Digital Journal the availability of Liferay Faces in “Liferay Faces Now Ready for Download.”

A basic description of the new program is:

Liferay Faces is an open source project that increases interoperability between JavaServer™ Faces (JSF) and Liferay Portal. JSF is the Java Community Process (JCP) standard for building server-side user interfaces on the Java EE platform and is widely leveraged among enterprise Java developers.  The first general availability comes with the recent certification of Liferay Faces Bridge, a sub-project of Liferay Faces, as compliant with the JSR 329 standard from the JCP.

With the new launch Liferay continues to maintain its dedication to the open source community.  Liferay Faces is also the first of a new product release with new JSF components and many other upgrades for the company’s other products.  Open source enterprise solutions are starting to be deployed in companies in favor of some proprietary products in an effort to save money.  This is a trend with a future.  If you need a powerful enterprise search for Liferay’s enterprise solutions, check out the LucidWorks another company based off open source technology.
